Welcome
The Sterry Church Family is a very inviting, welcoming group of Christian people who truly care about one another. We realize that a quality church family is blessed with programs, opportunities and Bible studies for people of all ages; however, the most important part of Sterry Church is the emphasis put on loving, caring relationships. We want people to feel welcome and cared for. The reality of God’s love in human relationships is central to everything we do. With this there is opportunity to grow in a true knowledge of God, God’s Word (the Bible) and in relationship with God and others.
We also believe there is a primary message to the Bible, and we keep this message before us in all we do. This message is this:“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16) At Sterry Church we talk about Christ, preach about Christ and show the reality of Christ in all we do.
Sterry Church is also known for being a “praying church”. Communication with God through prayer is emphasized throughout the Bible. Jesus said, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.” (Matthew 7:7-8) Come and pray, and be prayed for.
There is also a sincere interest in caring for, encouraging and teaching children and youth. This is evident in the fun and meaningful children’s and youth programs, but also in the passion there is for praying for children and youth so they become followers of Jesus Christ.
Sterry Church is made up of people of all ages; real people, with real problems, and real happiness. Come and be a part of a wonderful church family. You will hear about God’s pathway to heaven – Jesus Christ. And you will learn what it means to live with God’s hope, strength, encouragement and purpose.
May the Lord bless you!
